SiteExecutive 2011 - What's New
New modules, new core CMS functionality, UI and performance enhancements – SiteExecutive 2011 helps you create an even better Web experience for site visitors, content contributors and your Web team. Here's how:
1 New Video Gallery
The SiteExecutive Video Gallery aggregates videos hosted on third-party sites like YouTube and presents them on your SiteExecutive Website. You maintain engagement with site visitors as well as the brand integrity of your video content. In addition to YouTube, the app supports videos hosted on Vimeo, MediaExecutive, Flash Media Streaming Server and it also works with custom embed tags. See a sample video gallery here.
2 New Image Gallery
The SiteExecutive Image Gallery app lets you create and configure one or more photo galleries or slideshows on a SiteExecutive Website. With highly configurable layouts and easily integrated with popular JQuery carrousel scripts, the Image Gallery incorporates a new image API which automatically resizes your images for optimal display based on browser settings. Check out our sample image gallery here. Or, see a sample slideshow here.
3 New Social Media Module (Available in EP1)
Want to add popular Facebook and Twitter social plug-ins to your site, but not sure how? The SiteExecutive Social Media module provides three three user-friendlyTwitter plug-ins and five for Facebook with which you can consume and integrate social content with your Web content. See the Twitter plug-ins here and the Facebook plugins here.
4 Enhanced Event Calendar and Profile Directory
The new Event Calendar and Profile Directory apps leverage the new SiteExecutive Structured Content API. Using the Event Calendar, you can add one or many event calendars to your Website, import and export events using popular iCal and Outlook formats, aggregate multiple calendars into a single view, provide light-weight event management and search for events using any content parameter. The new Profile Directory comes preconfigured for building staff profiles, and is easily customized for creating simple or complex profiles for physicians, attorneys, staff, teams, etc. See a sample event calendar here. Or check out our sample profile directory here.
5 New Core Features
Enhancements to the SiteExecutive core include a new Structured Content API, Workflow API and previously mentioned Image API. With the Structured Content API you can define and model any type of “structured content” – content stored in an XML format that defines and describes the content. A number of SiteExecutive apps leverage the API, including the Blog Application, Event Calendar and Profile Directory. The new Workflow API enables more granular approval process. The new Image API creates an image pyramid – a collection of re-sized/re-scaled versions of the same image. When a visitor hits a page where the image resides, SiteExecutive will automatically display the optimal image based on the visitor’s browser type.
6 UI and Performance Enhancements
SiteExecutive 2011 incorporates several new user interfaces (UIs) designed to simply content authoring and Website administration. Performance enhancements improve scalability, support for larger sites with large numbers of administrative users, as well as rendering performance.
